Harmony Links Golf Announces Latest “Design Series” Project; Issues “Harmony Links Challenge”

9-Hole, 2,568-yard 2,235 Yard Personal Golf Estate features 9-fairways, 3-greens

Harmony Links Golf, the leader in delivering “Next Generation Golf Today,” has announced its latest “Design Series” Project in Zolfo Springs Florida.  The Project is a 3-green, 9-fairway and tee complex with 5 par 4's from 300-385 yards, 4 par 3's from 90-175 yards in length and plays 2,235 yards in length as 9 holes. The project features spectacular green complexes, professionally shaped fairways, over 7,000 sq ft of Harmony Links Commercial Commercial Greens, and 1st Cut Fringe and design by Harmony Links Golf’s award-winning architect and co-founder, Terry LaGree.  There are 18-cup locations on the greens.  Construction was completed in approximately in 3 weeks.

“I had a vision for a golf complex on my ranch and great recommendations to use Harmony Links Golf.  Now my friends and I will have a place to compete to our hearts content.” said George Pantuso, owner.  We went through several revisions of the design and they delivered exactly what our agreed-to design was!

In conjunction with this announcement, Harmony Links Golf announced the Harmony Links Challenge.  Contact us to arrange a visit to play this great golf amenity and see how your greens will putt and receive shots. You will also notice the award-winning design of the holes.  Harmony Links will show you what “Next Generation Golf” is all about and why you will want to move forward with this concept.  Photos and renderings of the course are now available at www.harmonylinksgolf.com.

“This is the perfect golf amenity for a city or development with perfect greens everyday. The routing could be slightly altered to accommodate the increase in players.   In today’s challenging economy, with water usage for golf courses being closely monitored by government bodies, the “Design Series” is exactly what mainstream golf will become.  No more aerification, over-seeding, fertilizing, mowing or watering greens, which results in dramatically reduced maintenance budgets” said Terry LaGree, Harmony Links Golf’s award-winning golf course architect and co-founder.

City of La Harpe’s Lamoine Valley Golf Course Opens for 3rd year Featuring Harmony Links Commercial Synthetic Turf Greens Through Harmony Links Golf

9-Hole, 2,568-yard Golf Course Maintained with 1 person for 2 Years!

The City of La Harpe’s Lamoine Valley 9-hole golf course has announced it is now open for its 3rd season, featuring Harmony Links Commercial synthetic greens.   In a typical realization of savings using Harmony Links Golf’s Renovation Advantage, the Parks and recreation department has maintained the 9-hole facility with only 1 person for the 2 years since installing Harmony Links Commercial synthetic turf greens and tees.

In conjunction with Lamoine Valley’s opening, Harmony Links Golf issued “The Harmony Links Challenge.”  “If you want to see how your greens will putt and receive shots after 3 years, and how the award-winning design can revitalize your golf course.  Contact us to arrange a visit to see and play La Harpe’s greens…you’ll be amazed by them, and you will understand what we mean by “Next Generation Golf” said Jeff Hartson, Harmony Links Golf co-founder.   “This solution is the surest path to profitability for forward thinking golf courses that want a competitive edge by lowering maintenance costs, reducing expensive staff, and having consistently great greens everyday,” he continued.

“We have eliminated all watering, mowing, aerification, fertilizing, and spraying of herbicides on our greens and tees.  We have maintained this 9-hole golf facility with over 18,000 sq ft of Harmony Links Commercial synthetic greens and tees with 1 person for 2 years,” said Barry Wright, President of the City's Parks and Recreation Board.

“If we had regular grass greens, we would require a greens superintendant, greens mowers, elaborate watering system for the greens, and aerification equipment for the greens for the 2-3 aerifications golf courses perform each year. Now I see what Harmony Links means when they say Next Generation Golf.   Everyone else has bumpy greens for the summer months.  Our greens are perfect every day!” Mr. Wright continued.

Terry LaGree, Harmony Links Golf’s award-winning golf course architect and co-founder added, “With an average lifecycle of 10 years, this investment is the way to go!  Golf courses get caught by the downward spiraling economy and can’t afford to maintain their greens at the same level.  Then customers see the quality drop and go elsewhere, especially when greens are aerified and not properly sanded or there is a drought they take forever to heal.  Our greens never have that problem.”

Interested parties can also visit Harmony Links Golf’s newest Design Series Project in central Florida. The Project is a 3-green, 9-fairway and tee complex with 5 par 4's from 300-385 yards, 4 par 3's from 90-175 yards in length and plays 2,235 yards in length as 9 holes. The project features spectacular green complexes, professionally shaped fairways, over 7,000 sq ft of Harmony Links Commercial Greens, and 1st Cut Fringe and design by Harmony Links Golf’s award-winning architect, Terry LaGree.  There are 6-cup locations on each green.  Construction was completed in approximately in 3 weeks.

Harmony Links Golf Renovates City of La Harpe's Greens to
The Harmony Links Commercial System Synthetic Turf

City's Parks and Recreation Executive Sees Significant Advantages to Renovation

For Immediate Release:  Harmony Links Golf ( www.harmonylinksgolf.com ), the leader in "Delivering Next Generation Golf Today" has completed the transformation of City of La Harpe's, Lamoine Valley Golf Club's sand greens and tees to "The Harmony Links Commercial System" synthetic greens and tees.  The 4-week Renovation Advantage project included Harmony Links' redesign, project management, construction, renovation and synthetic turf installation on the 2,568-yard, 9-hole Lamoine Valley Golf Course's sand greens and tee boxes in western IL.
Barry Wright, President of the City's Parks and Recreation Board said, "What Harmony Links Golf has done for our golf course is simply amazing.  They delivered on every promise as they were on budget, on time and were terrific to work with.  They were a one-stop shop for our renovation. Terry LaGree, who just won national recognition for one of the "Best New Courses in America" for his design of Jack Frost National, redesigned our greens and created signature holes, such as #4, that now define our golf course.  He really nailed it for us!  Our greens receive shots from 200 yards and putt so true it’s unbelievable.  Everyone in the area is excited to play our new course!"  "We expect to spend 35 to 40 man/hours a week maintaining our new 1st class 9-hole golf facility," Wright continued, "and most of that is mowing the fairways and rough.  These synthetic turf greens simply need to be brushed and rolled once a week for the first couple of months.  After that, the hours/week for maintenance drop considerably."
Terry LaGree, award-winning co-founder of Harmony Links Golf, with 75 golf course projects and 20+ master-planned communities completed, said, "I tried to compliment Lamoine Valley's layout with green designs that provided a challenge for all levels of golfers.  As golfers play hole #3 with its elevated green which is surrounded by the forest, #4 which is completely reshaped into the hillside, #5 with its challenging dogleg around the forest to an elevated green, and #6, a 153 yard par 3 hole, which has interesting slopes going towards the forest, they will appreciate the beauty of Lamoine Valley Golf Club.   I also added 25 yards to #8 and nice movement throughout the green.  The 9th green is all about risk-reward with a depth of 75 feet and great movement as well."
After seeing the transformation at Lamoine Valley, we realized the expertise Harmony Links Golf brings to a project on many levels," Steve White Jr., CEO of XGrass said, "We are excited to be part of this first renovation with them.  Together, we are taking The Harmony Links Commercial System into the commercial golf market as it is designed to withstand the rigors a commercial golf course is exposed to every day.  The Harmony Links Commercial System is comprised of our premium grade greens, fringe and tees with the base strengthened at every layer."
"As other parks & recreation, municipal, par 3 and executive golf facilities realize the quality of golf they can offer with Terry's design, perfect greens every day and the Return On Investment they can achieve which is generally about 3 years, resulting in approximately 7 years of savings, they will want to use our Renovation Advantage to move to The Harmony Links Commercial System for their courses too," said Jeff Hartson, co-founder of Harmony Links Golf.  "If golf course owners are considering 18-hole renovation of their greens, bychoosing The Harmony Links Commercial System, they can save $1.5M over the lifecycle while delivering perfect bent grass quality greens everyday."

Harmony Links Golf Announces “The Design Series”
The Next Generation Golf Amenity

ORLANDO, Fla. – Harmony Links Golf, the leader in “next generation golf,” has announced “The Design Series.”  Experts from throughout the golf industry are calling it the perfect response to golf’s rising costs, environmental requirements and inconsistent day-to-day quality.

This series combines the design and construction of replica and/or custom golf holes with synthetic turf from Harmony Links Commercial for greens and tees along with real turf, low-flow irrigation and dazzling landscaping for a totally new golf experience.  Golf course owners who adopt “The Design Series” to renovate existing or build new courses now have an alternative that:

•           Is up to 70 percent  less expensive to maintain on an annual basis;
•           Is dramatically more environmentally friendly;
•           Provides a more consistent golf experience year-round for golfers.

With a typical lifespan of 10-12 years, Harmony Links Commercial Greens turf represents a solid return on investment and with its DuraFlo backing, is 100 percent recyclable.  Using minimal acreage, these holes can also be designed and constructed as golf amenities for residential developments, resorts, commercial or equestrian facilities and can be completed in a few weeks.

The “Design Series” from Harmony Links Golf (www.harmonylinksgolf.com) has garnered significant industry support from golf course architects, developers and players, alike.   “This new concept fits in very well in today’s economic climate,” said Tom Fazio, recognized as one of the foremost golf course architects of the modern era.  “It is conscious of pervasive drought conditions, tight water supplies and the need for low maintenance costs and should offer a wonderful recreational and visual option in any number of settings.”

Chris DiMarco, a three-time winner on the PGA Tour and a member of past Ryder Cup and Presidents Cup teams, added, “DiMarco Pointe is my personal golf complex and was
designed by Harmony Links Golf and Harmony Links Commercial to include fast greens with Augusta-style slopes.  It features synthetic turf from Harmony Links Commercial Greens combined with zoysia grass surrounding the greens and is a perfect place for my family and me to practice because Harmony Links Commercial greens receive shots so well and roll so true.  They are as fast as I wanted them to be.  DiMarco Pointe is a great example of a custom personal golf complex in The Design Series.”

Stan Olsen, developer of Black Diamond Ranch in Lecanto, Fla., and its world famous Quarry Course, worked closely with Harmony Links partner Terry LaGree, when LaGree managed Black Diamond Ranch for more than 10 years.  ‘The Design Series’ represents a paradigm shift in the world of golf,” Olsen said. “Terry is an exceptionally talented golf course and landscape architect. Tom Fazio and Terry worked hand in hand with me to create one of the top residential golf communities in the country.”

“This kind of amenity is very interesting for developers who want to offer a unique golf setting that is visually spectacular, more cost-effective and environmentally friendly while offering their customers an exciting golf experience,” said Steve Tamposi, president and owner of Citrus Hills and Skyview at Terravista in Hernando, Fla.   “Terry designed and built Skyview at Terra Vista golf course and we so appreciate his design and construction expertise.””

Steve White, Jr., president of  XGrass/Harmony Links Commercial Greens, added, “‘The Design Series’ is timely and will be differentiated through the performance of the Harmony Links Commercial putting experience for golfers as well as the quality design from golf course architect Terry LaGree.  The collaboration between Jeff Hartson and Terry on Harmony Pointe, The Marsh Course has led to a one-of-a-kind golf complex on the Gulf of Mexico at Jeff’s home.  Harmony Links Commercial greens putt like your favorite golf course and hold shots from 200 yards.  Golfers are able to spin their approach shots just like they can on their home course.  Putting greens from Harmony Links Commercial don’t ‘snake’ like many synthetic turf greens … they roll true, the same each time.”

Requiring only minimal acreage and only some 20-30 man/hours of maintenance weekly, “The Design Series” is comprised of a variety of discreet themes that take advantage of natural topography, prioritize environmental considerations, desired replica holes and the golf course owner or developer’s budget considerations.

Harmony Links Commercial synthetic turf greens eliminate problems inherent with routine maintenance practices required with natural grass greens, and thus offer bent grass quality putting surfaces 365 days a year. With Harmony Links Commercial, golfers can play on a consistent putting surface that never requires aerification or overseeding.

Each year, golf course superintendents must aerify greens numerous times to offset compaction and maintain healthy putting surfaces. With each aerification, players must endure weeks of play on degraded greens while the aerified surfaces heal.

Additionally, with Bermuda greens most common in the South, putting can be degraded again during transition periods, in fall when greens are overseeded with winter grasses and again in spring when the primary Bermuda returns from dormancy.

In northern regions where greens are primarily bent grass, putting can be negatively affected by the sparseness or lack of grass on the greens shortly after winter snows melt. And insect infestations or disease can cause the loss of entire greens, regardless of the grass.  Harmony Links Commercial eliminates these problems entirely.

About Harmony Links Golf

Harmony Links Golf designs, builds and markets “The Design Series,” Golf’s next generation amenity, based on replica or custom-designed golf holes, a combination of synthetic turf greens/tees from Harmony Links Commercial, (www.Harmony Links Commercialgreens.com) and real grass for fairways and common areas on minimal acreage.  These golf holes can be utilized in existing or new golf courses, residential developments, resorts, commercial or equestrian facilities, reducing annual maintenance costs, watering, use of fertilizers/chemicals while providing a consistent quality product 365 days a year.
